the defeat of Israel adesanya for Jan Blachowicz No. UFC 259 continues to bear fruit, including within his team. According to one of the Nigerian's coaches, Eugene Bareman, the setback between the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) to the Pole ended up postponing a career plan scheduled for the coming years. In an interview with 'SiriusXM', the coach stated that the student would move up to heavyweight (up to 120,2kg.), if he won the belt last weekend.

“I can answer this question because we lost (in the UFC 259). If we won the belt, for me, or the manager, we would try everything. Why stop here? We would go up, but nothing to do with Jon Jones. Israel would approach Francis Ngannou to face him. If (Stipe) Miocic won, we would go after him.” Bareman said.

The dream of Israel and his team, however, ended up being postponed. In the confrontation against Blachowicz, for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg), Adesanya ended up being unable to overcome his opponent's physical strength and was declared defeated on points after five rounds of confrontation.

The setback for Jan marked the first defeat in the Nigerian's career, who remained undefeated in MMA with 20 consecutive victories. When he faced the Pole, Israel was trying to be integrated into the select group of fighters who, today, have two belts in different categories on their resume.
