Julianna Peña challenges Amanda Nunes and Dana White confirms interest in fight

After successfully defending the featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg), Amanda nunes She is already being asked to return to bantamweight (up to 61,2kg). After the ‘Lioness’ wins Megan anderson, UFC 259, last Saturday (6), the Brazilian was challenged, in the ‘Twitter', by the Venezuelan Julianna Pena. At the press conference after the Show, Dana White did not rule out the possibility of promoting the fight.

"Holly holm is out, she got hurt. Amanda fight me! Come and defend your 61 kg belt that you haven’t defended since 2019”, challenged Peña, who would face the American on May 8th.

The Ultimate representative confirmed that the Venezuelan got in touch to ask for the dispute, and stated that the company could indeed hold this fight soon.

"Julianna Pena has been texting all of us all night. She's been busy today. Yes, we can do this”, declared Dana.

Peña became known after winning the 18th edition of the reality show 'The Ultimate Fighter', which took place in 2013. It then went on to achieve three consecutive victories, until it was stopped by Valentina Shevchenko, in January of 2017.

After a long period away, due to becoming a mother, Julianna returned to the octagon in July 2019. Since then, there have been two wins and one defeat, which gave the 31-year-old athlete sixth place in the bantamweight division rankings.
