Randy Couture may be “turning his coat,” as they say in the sports world. According to information from the publication portal Sports Illustrated, the former fighter is ending a years-long relationship with UFC and moving to rival Bellator. The portal assures that Randy, who is a member of the Ultimate Hall of Fame and former heavyweight and light heavyweight champion of the organization, has already signed a contract with the North American cable channel Spike TV and that the official announcement will be made on February 5th.
Randy Couture was a coach on the first season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, which also aired on Spike TV, alongside Chuck Liddell. The Ultimate reality show was, and continues to be, a great success and that is what the channel's managers are betting on, now in partnership with Bellator - as the contract between Spike TV and UFC ended in 2011 and the organization's partnership is now with the FOX network.
Randy “The Natural” Couture has been retired from MMA since April 2011, when he was knocked out by Lyoto Machida, with a kick that knocked out his tooth, at UFC 129. As a professional, Couture had 30 fights (only four of them outside of Ultimate) – with 19 wins and 11 losses.
