"Conor McGregor He wants the trilogy and so do I. We're just trying to get the deal right and structured. It's going to be a big fight. He knocked me out and I knocked him out. The trilogy will be one of the biggest fights of the year and, perhaps, one of the best of all time. Combat makes a lot of sense and a lot of money. So we are trying to structure the right deal and look at the right timeframe. To (face) a guy like Conor, you want the fans to be there, even if it's limited,” said Poirier in an interview with 'Joe Rogan Experience'.

Even though he is in first place in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg) and close to a title shot, Dustin poirier analyzed the situation of Conor McGregor and even mentioned the Brazilian Charles of the Bronx to claim that a fight for the category belt wouldn't be fair.

“The longer we wait, the more we will take the 'heat' out of it. I don't think (that Conor should challenge for the title). He's been out for a long time and he lost his last two fights at lightweight. So, you can't put him in a fight for the belt. How could you justify that when you have guys like Charles of the Bronx?”, concluded the North American.
