Last victim of Henry Cejudo, Dominick Cruz is direct when analyzing the possibility of the 'Triple C' returning to MMA. Without beating around the bush, the legend of the division spoke about the matter.

“I don’t think (Cejudo will return). He has this thing where he thinks he's worth millions of dollars. I don't think Dana (White, president of Ultimate) doesn't care. So he probably won't (come back), because he wants some amount of money before he comes back and fights. I don't know if he will receive that,” said Cruz, in an interview with 'ESPN'.

Leader of the category on two occasions (2010-2011; 2016), Dominick used the current situation of the bantamweight division as an argument. Today, the division is considered one of the most dangerous in the entire organization and, therefore, Cejudo's absence, according to the former champion, could not bring the damage that 'Triple C' imagines.

“When you look at the rest of the category, Petr yan e aljamain sterling, two challengers who are fighting for the belt, those guys aren't asking for a lot of money. And they will bring a big fight to the table (UFC 259). Why bring Cejudo back? It doesn't bring extra audience. If you are Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, has more viewers. But, if you are Henry Cejudo? (…) They’re kind of laughing at him,” she concluded.

Henry made history in Ultimate by winning the flyweight title (up to 56,7kg) and, about a year later, he won the bantamweight belt. The athlete defended both titles and joined the select group of fighters who led two different divisions.

'Triplo C' announced his retirement in May 2020, when he beat his own Dominick Cruz. Out of the sport for almost a year, the American has been rehearsing a return, but, so far, the decision has not been made.
