Actor from the film 'Mortal Kombat' reveals that he was inspired by UFC star to compose the character

Fans of the game series'Mortal Kombat' were excited last week with the release of the trailer for the new film in the franchise. For MMA fans, one fact may further increase interest in the film. This because Jorge masvidal inspired one of the actors in composing his role.

In an interview with 'Entertainment Weekly', actor Lewis Tan, who plays a veteran fighter, reveals that he was influenced by the UFC welterweight (up to 77,1kg.) to create the character 'Cole Young'.

Through your'Twitter', Lewis also stated that there is a scene in the film that resembles Masvidal's knockout of Ben Askren in the UFC 239, which took place in June 2019. The coup that gave victory to 'GameBred' went down in history as the fastest knockout in the history of Ultimate.

"This is what Jorge masvidal did before knocking out Ben Askren in five seconds and setting the entire MMA community on fire,” declared Lewis Tan on his social media.

The fighter said he was honored to serve as an inspiration to the artist and expressed excitement to watch the film after checking out the official trailer.

“Actors using me as inspiration is an honor and after watching the trailer, I'm excited for the film,” he wrote. Jorge masvidal.

Without fighting since July 2020, when he was defeated by Kamaru Usman in a valid dispute for the welterweight belt, in UFC 251, in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the 36-year-old athlete is currently fourth in the division rankings and is one of those tipped to be the Nigerian's next challenger.
