“Vitor still needs victories to compete for the middleweight belt,” said UFC director

Photo: Josh Hedges (UFC/ Disclosure)The English Michael Bisping was one victory away from fighting for the middleweight belt against Anderson Silva. However, the setback to Vitor belfort in the main fight of UFC Sao Paulo, an event held this Saturday (19), disrupted the Englishman's plans and put the Brazilian back in the running. However, Marshall Zelaznik, director of international development at Ultimate, stated that the Brazilian needs a few more victories to have a chance at a new opportunity against the “Spider”.

“I knew this question would be asked. Before going to the press conference I exchanged text messages with Dana (White, UFC president). He told me that as Vitor returned to the middleweight category now, Vitor needs a few more wins to fight for the belt. Maybe two wins to fight Anderson,” said Zelaznik.

Despite returning to the middleweight category, Vitor belfort revealed his desire to return to light heavyweight and fight for the Jon Jones (remember here).
