“I'm tired of hearing that the Charles of the Bronx deserves something. Apart from Tony (Ferguson), who did this guy beat to deserve a title fight?”, wrote the American.

Although Justin made his opinion explicit, Do Bronx has been collecting victims since 2018, when he began an invita series that still boasts today. The Brazilian's last defeat happened in 2017. On that occasion, the São Paulo native was beaten by Paul felder. After the setback, Charles found himself in the category and never lost again.

In his last fight, Do Bronx shocked the world with a dominant performance over one of the best fighters in the history of the division. In December, the Brazilian was not aware of Tony Ferguson and beat 'Bicho Papão' by points in one of the most anticipated clashes in the UFC 256.

While criticizing Do Bronx, Gaethje looks for a new opponent to recover in the category. Current number one in the rankings, the North American lost his last fight, when he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov, in a duel valid for the unification of the lightweight title.

Imbroglio in the division

Considered one of the most dangerous categories in MMA, the lightweight division of Ultimate is going through a moment of uncertainty. Division champion Khabib retired after his victory over Justin and shows no signs of returning to the sport.

Despite being aware of the Russian's decision, the UFC management continues to keep Nurmagomedov at the top of the division, believing that the athlete may rethink the case.

With Khabib out, Dustin poirier took on a leading role in the group by beating Conor McGregor with a brutal knockout in the UFC 257. With the triumph over one of the biggest names in the history of the sport, the 'Diamante' came out ahead in the fight for a place in the title fight.

On the other hand, the other possible vacancy has been a subject of discussion. While Charles demands a rightful chance from Ultimate, Dana White and his team welcomed the debut of the former Bellator champion, Michael chandler, which brutalized Dan Hooker in the show headlined by Poirier and McGregor.

The company even proposed a duel between Chandler and Do Bronx, but, undeterred, the Brazilian confirmed that he will only return to the octagon for a title fight.

After watching Dustin's victory over Conor, Charles began attacking the American. However, the 'Diamante' seems convinced to carry out a trilogy against the 'Notório', as the victory in UFC 257 tied the dispute between the two.

After noting that Poirier and McGregor are ready for a new fight, Do Bronx was open to facing any other opponent. However, the presence of the belt is essential.
