Gina Carano is fired after comparing the Democratic Party to Nazism

MMA icon and now action film actress, former fighter was dismissed from the series 'The Mandalorian', after reproducing text considered offensive on her social networks

One of those responsible for spreading women's MMA around the world, Gina Carano ended up getting involved in a controversy that cost her her job on the series 'The Mandalorian'. The former fighter and now actress was dismissed by 'LucasFilm' after a publication considered offensive, in which he compared members and enthusiasts of the Democratic Party to Nazism. The news was released by 'Hollywood Reporter'.

Carano's text was not well accepted by followers and, in a short time, there was an increase in hashtag '#FireGinaCarano'. Upon realizing the negative repercussions of her attitude, the actress chose to delete the comment, but this did not prevent her dismissal.

“Gina Carano is no longer an employee of 'LucasFilm' and we have no plans to work with her again in the future. Your posts on social media attacking people based on their cultural and religious identities are abject and unacceptable,” the producer said in an official statement, translated by 'Combate'.

Carano worked professionally in MMA between 2006 and 2009. In the sport, the athlete had eight commitments, with seven wins and one loss.

Its last performance took place more than 10 years ago, when it was surpassed by Chris Cyborg in the Strikeforce featherweight title fight.
