Yoel Romero and Anthony Johnson have a fight confirmed for April

End of the mystery. Former Ultimate highlights, Yoel romero e Anthony Johnson they will, in fact, face each other. Now, in the UFC's competitor, the athletes have had their fight confirmed for the Bellator 257, which takes place on April 16th. Newcomers to the organization, veterans are included in the Grand Prix light heavyweight division (up to 93kg.), which will also feature names like Lyoto Machida, Corey anderson, Ryan bader, Phil Davis and the group champion, Vadim nemkov. The information was released by the company at a press conference.

Considered one of the best middleweight representatives (up to 83,9 kg.) in the history of Ultimate, this will be the first time, in almost 10 years, that Romero acts without UFC gloves. A former challenger for the category belt, the athlete's transfer to the competitor ended up taking many by surprise, as the Cuban remained relevant within the company, even with a recent negative record.

While Romero remains active in his career, Johnson will resume his MMA activities. Former challenger for the UFC light heavyweight title, the 'giant' will return to the sport after more than three years of inactivity. The athlete has not fought since the defeat to Daniel Cormier, in 2017, which, at the time, marked the retirement of 'Rumble'.

Machida x Bader

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Lyoto Machida also had his participation confirmed in the GP. On April 9, the Brazilian will face the former category leader, Ryan bader, in the main fight of the UFC Bellator 256.

The show will also mark the debut of Corey anderson, who transferred to the company last season. The athlete will face Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov.

The final of the tournament will take place in October, which does not yet have an official date and location. The winner will receive a prize of US$1 million (approximately R$5,4 million).
