At a complicated stage in his career, junior gypsy he continues to choke on his last defeat with the Ultimate gloves. Beaten by Cyryl Gane in one of the main fights of the UFC 256, the former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg.) once again criticized an illegal blow applied by the Frenchman, which, according to him, was instrumental in the knockout in the second round. In an interview with 'Combate', the Santa Catarina native spoke about the subject and asked for a rematch against the executioner.

“It was absurd, it was a clearly illegal coup that stopped being illegal perhaps due to my situation or because he is a guy who is arriving with great potential, attracting a lot of attention. I was coming off three defeats, in other words, it's an illegal strike, but it's not that illegal,” said the Brazilian.

Willing to settle the score with the Frenchman, Cigano asked the UFC to promote a rematch against his last rival. For the Santa Catarina native, a new confrontation is a fair way for the situation to be resolved.

“It’s the least they can do. The UFC knows I don't ask for a fight, but I want this one. Let's do things the right way. Please reschedule this fight. Let me fight him again”, requested the former champion.

Experienced in MMA, with 30 fights as a professional, Júnior took the opportunity to criticize part of the Ultimate team, who did not see any illegality in Ciryl's strike. The Brazilian states that members of the media have a responsibility with information and, therefore, the case should have been evaluated more carefully.

“One of the things that hurt the most were the guys in the sport, Dana White himself, Daniel Cormier, several other UFC or athletes, agreeing with this. These guys have a voice, they are in the media, they say what they want and lay people usually follow the story. Nobody disputes that the coup was illegal, what they are arguing is that it was my fault, not the guy's. Note that no one says it wasn't illegal. The coup was illegal, but it would only have been illegal because of me. That's what they say. That’s what all these guys say, including Dana White,” he said.

Finally, Cigano asked that the result of the duel be changed to 'no contest'. The Brazilian, however, understands that the change, in addition to the rematch, is a way to make an atypical situation in the Octagon fair.

“What will change? It won't change anything. The guy is going to continue his career, he already has his next fight scheduled, everything is going on in his life. The only thing that can happen is the fight turns around.”I didn't answer”. In other words, it doesn't change anything. I don’t understand,” she finished.

Considered one of the promises for the future of the heavyweight division, Gane has a confirmed confrontation against Jairzinho Rozenstruik. With an eye on a title fight, the giants will exchange forces on February 27th.
