The controversy of UFC 257, this Saturday (23), was due to the Brazilian fight between Marina Rodriguez e Amanda ribas. After a first round dominated by Amanda, Marina had to knock out her compatriot twice to win, due to a mistake by central referee Herb Dean (see the video below).

In the second round of the dispute, Marina returned ready to turn the fight around. The gaúcha connected with an elbow and made the Minas Gerais girl bend her knees. With several punches on the ground, she left Ribas practically unconscious. Herb Dean got very close to the fighters, said something and even put his chest against Rodriguez's head. The woman from Rio Grande do Sul understood that she had won the dispute, stood up and celebrated. The referee, however, wanted the duel to continue.
After a few seconds of doubts and uncertainties, the fight resumed with Amanda ribas still bewildered. Marina Rodriguez He didn't waste the opportunity and landed three more right blows and, then, Dean intervened and ended the dispute.
At the end of the fight, Marina commented on the central referee's mistake. “I understood that he approached her with his hands and said something, so I stopped, he was hitting her a lot and she was motionless. But come on, two knockouts in the night! I think that with this victory I qualify for reaching the top 5 and I want to face any of them.
