After a long wait, Daniel Safafian will finally make his Ultimate debut. The São Paulo native, who reached the TUF Brasil final, suffered a serious arm injury during training for the decision against Cezar Mutant and was forced to give up the dispute. Now, scheduled to debut on UFC Sao Paulo, an event that takes place next Saturday (19), at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium, Safarian says he is ready for the duel against the North American C.B. Dollaway.
“Everything is ready, I’m going to war! The training was perfect, the entire preparation schedule was completed without any problems. I'm relaxed to have a good fight,” said Sarafian in an interview with the UFC's official YouTube channel.
The Brazilian assured that the time away from competitions, due to injury, was beneficial for his development in the sport. According to him, his technique was perfected during the recovery period from the surgery he underwent.
“The injury was very difficult, it was sad, I was very excited to fight in the final (of TUF Brazil), but it didn't happen. However, I couldn't let the sadness overwhelm me. I got everything good from the injury and now I'll have my opportunity. I'm much more technical than before I got injured, I trained karate and learned a lot of new things”, analyzed Sarafian, sending a message about what to expect for his first fight in the UFC. “Don’t be surprised if I throw a high kick or a round kick”, concluded the fighter from São Paulo.
