After enduring Holloway massacre, Kattar publishes proud text about 'not giving up'

Although he was dominated by his rival at UFC Ilha da Luta 7, the North American was surprised by his ability to absorb the Hawaiian's countless attacks

Beaten for practically 25 minutes, Calvin kattar lost, but left many spectators stunned by his race in UFC Fight Island 7. Beaten by Max Holloway In the main clash last Saturday (16), the North American spoke out for the first time after the setback. In a proud tone, the athlete congratulated his rival and thanked the team for the opportunity.

Merits to Max (Holloway), who had an incredible fight and deserves the honors. Thankful for my team's commitment to this fight. Keeping an eye on the next one. There is no end to those who don’t give up,” Calvin wrote.

The clash against Holloway marked the main fight in Kattar's career to date. Against the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg), the American saw the chance of getting closer to a title fight slip through his fingers.

The week of the fight, UFC president Dana White made it public that, if Calvin overcame the Hawaiian, he would face the winner of Alexander Volkanovsky e Brian ortega (UFC 260), in the fight for the title.

With the setback, Kattar will need to restart his journey towards the belt. Today, the athlete is 6th in the group led by Volkanovski.
