Ildemar Marajó replaces Canadian and faces Wagner Caldeirão at UFC São Paulo

Ildemar Marajo celebratingThe city of Marajó, in Pará, will have two representatives in the UFC Sao Paulo, an event that takes place on January 19th, at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium. After bantamweight Yuri Marajó, who had already been announced previously in the duel against Pedro Nobre from Rio, his brother, Ildemar, signed a contract with the biggest MMA organization in the world and is confirmed on the show. He replaces the injured Canadian Roger Hollett in the duel against compatriot Wagner Caldeirão.

Ildemar Marajó, who has an MMA record of 17 wins and five losses, has seven consecutive victories in his career, the last three of which were at the GP of Jungle Fight, of which he became champion. He had been working in Brazil as a middleweight (up to 84 kg.), but with the chance to work in Ultimate, he accepted the invitation to move up to the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg.).

Just like in 2012, injuries are once again haunting Ultimate cards. Only in UFC Sao Paulo three changes have been made in recent days due to injuries. In addition to Hollett, Justin Salas, who would face Edson Barboza, left the card giving way to lucas mineiro, while George Roop, who would face Ildemar's brother,Yuri Marajó, was injured and was replaced by Pedro Nobre.
