Current number six in the lightweight ranking (up to 70,3kg.), Dan Hooker certainly stayed tuned in the co-main fight of the UFC 256. After witnessing a real collision of Charles of the Bronx about the dreaded Tony Ferguson, the New Zealander created his theory to try to explain the Brazilian's superiority over one of the biggest names in the history of the category.

“To me, it’s very obvious what happened. Tony is a crowd fighter, he absorbs energy from the crowd. In big moments, under pressure, 10, 20, 30 thousand people there, you can't tell me that doesn't influence the situation”, said Dan, in an interview with 'Submission Radio'.

While the New Zealander believes that the absence of the public negatively influenced Ferguson's performance, for the athlete, the opposite happened with Charles. Following the reasoning, the fighter suggested that the lack of fans took the pressure off the São Paulo native's shoulders.

“Charles Oliveira (From the Bronx), for me, is an athlete who traditionally doesn't do very well under the pressure of big fights. You look at any big fight he's had in the past, he freezes. For me, that was it. Tony wasn’t awake,” he finished.

The triumph over Ferguson meant that Do Bronx finally reached the top 5 in the category led by Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Brazilian has now assumed Tony's position and, thirdly, awaits the definition of the fight between Conor McGregor e Dustin poirier, which are faced in the UFC 257.
