After winning the 'Performance of the Night' bonus, by knocking out the Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare, UFC 256, Kevin holland Already thinking about the next step. The North American, who has already won five fights in 2020, wasted no time and challenged the Swede Khamzat Shimaev, who, like him, was one of the highlights of the event during the pandemic with three victories this year.

“I know Chimaev was supposed to fight on December 19th, you know? He fights at welterweight (up to 77,1 kg) and middleweight (up to 83,9 kg). Then go back to medium! I’m going to kill that boy!” said Holland, in an interview after the UFC 256.
'Champions of the Pandemic'
Chimaev gained worldwide notoriety by winning three fights in 2020 in a short space of time against John Phillips, rhys mckee e Gerald meerschaert via fast routes – the three fights combined were completed in 4m38s. But Holland considers the success exaggerated.
“Khamzat doesn’t fight all the time. That's what casual fans think (...). He hasn't beaten anyone in the UFC yet, but he's a good value. If the UFC wants, I'll fight next week. If you want me to fight months later, I'll fight months later. That's what I'm here for. I love my job and I'm not here to complain.”, he concluded.
At 28, Kevin holland was discovered on the Contender Series, an event where UFC president, Dana White, finds new talent. When he got the contract, he lost to the Brazilian Thiago Marreta at the premiere. However, he turned things around and won five fights in 2020, winning 'Performance of the Night' three times. Now, he is ranked 15th at middleweight and has a record of 21 wins and five losses.
