The fight
The confrontation began with the athletes engaging in frank exchanges. Mackenzie connected two crosses squarely in the face of her opponent, who looked for the cliché. Dern remained more aggressive, while Jandiroba tried to find the best distance. Virna managed to surprise her compatriot with a clean right to her opponent's face. Mackenzie showed a lot of courage and did not shy away from the exchange of forces. Halfway through the round, Jandiroba's right hand landed squarely on Dern's head and shook her opponent. After exchanging blows, Mackenzie looked for her rival's legs and attempted the first takedown. Virna managed to free herself and the fight was fought again in the center of the Octagon. In the final minute, Jandiroba connected with a high kick to Mackenzie's face, but the fighter continued walking forward. The fighters continued attacking each other until the bell sounded.
In the second stage, Dern started with everything, attacking her opponent with a combination of punches. Jandiroba responded with a sequence of jab and direct. The fight continued 'back and forth'. When Mackenzie attacked, Virna responded and vice versa. After two minutes, Dern sought the clinch, but Virna managed to reverse the position and press her rival against the bars. After a frank exchange of blows, the fighters moved away and began exchanging attacks in the center of the octagon. Near the final minute, Mackenzie had a cut on her nose and was bleeding profusely, which bothered the fighter. Virna managed to take the fight to the ground and Dern defended herself as best she could. In an advantageous position, Virna tried transitions to seek a submission, but Dern resisted the punishment until the timer reached zero.
The last stage followed the script of the initial rounds. Without fear, the fighters tested themselves in the center of the octagon and landed good strikes. Mackenzie went back to looking for her opponent's legs and tried to take the fight to the ground. Jandiroba defended well and responded with a kick to Dern's face. Halfway through the round, Mackenzie connected with a jab and cross sequence that shook Virna. Dern tried to take advantage of the good moment and take the duel down. Virna defended herself well again and reversed the action, putting Mackenzie on the ground. Jandiroba allowed her opponent to get up and the fight returned to open striking. In the final seconds, Virna threatened a submission, Dern defended well, but there was no more time.
