It didn't work for Rafael Moicano. In the confrontation against Raphael Fiziev, held this Saturday (12), by UFC 256, in Las Vegas (USA), the Brazilian accepted the frank exchange and ended up succumbing with a knockout in the first round. The fighter complained a lot after the duel, suggesting that the referee was quick to interrupt the fight.

There was a lot of expectation for Moicano's presentation, who recently moved to lightweight (up to 70,3kg). After winning on his debut in the new division in March, Renato needed another positive result to continue his journey towards the top of one of the most dangerous groups in Ultimate. With the setback, Renato reaches his third defeat in the last five appearances.
In his fourth fight for the UFC, Fiziev confirmed his good form. Defeated only in his debut in the company, the Kyrgyz now has three victories in a row.
The fight
The fighters began the confrontation studying each other in the center of the Octagon. Fiziev took the initiative with a low kick and the Brazilian responded in kind. Rafael continued betting on kicks, but the Tupiniquim was unfazed. The Brazilian connected with a powerful straight left to his opponent's face, who responded with a sequence of punches and kicks. Halfway through the round, Renato blocked his opponent's kick and attacked Rafael with two punches, which forced his rival to walk backwards. In the final minute, Moicano accepted the frank exchange, but ended up collapsing after a sequence of punches, finished with a cross from Fiziev. Observing the situation, the referee chose to interrupt the duel.

MMA veteran, Cub swanson it gave further proof that there is still firewood to burn. At 37 years old, the athlete needed two rounds to overcome Daniel Pineda with a devastating knockout.
With a slow start, Swanson needed a few minutes to actually enter the confrontation. As time passed, the veteran began to loosen up and almost settled the score at the end of the first round. After the break, Cub needed less than two minutes to solve his rival's setback, with a straight shot, which exploded in his opponent's face and led to his knockout.
The triumph marked Swanson's second consecutive victory, while Pineda's seven-fight undefeated streak ended.
Gavin Tucker defeats Billy Quarantillo in open fight

In the third fight of the event, a striking show. During three rounds, Gavin tucker and Billy Garantillo promoted the most hectic confrontation so far. After 15 minutes, Tucker was declared the winner in a unanimous decision by the judges.
With the result, Gavin confirmed his good phase and secured his second positive result in Ultimate. Now, the fighter has five appearances in the company, with four triumphs and one setback.
As Tucker celebrates the victory, Quarantillo mourns. Representative of the featherweight category (up to 65,7kg), the North American ended up losing his unbeaten record in Ultimate. The athlete had been undefeated for three matches.

Strawweight representative (up to 52,1kg.), Tecia torres had a gala performance in the second fight of the night. In the confrontation against the debutant Sam Hughes, the North American gave her rival no chance and won by technical knockout (medical interruption) at the end of the first round.
From the beginning of the fight, Torres made it clear that his plan was to end the duel before 15 minutes. With safe and precise strikes, Tecia showed his superiority and definitively moved away from the troubled phase he experienced between 2018 and 2019, when he suffered four consecutive defeats. This was the North American's second triumph this season.
Former LFA, Hughes ended up not having the UFC debut of his dreams. The victim of several punches from her opponent, at the end of the first round, the fighter revealed to the coach that she could not see out of her left eye. After medical evaluation, the combatant was prevented from returning to the confrontation.

Peter Barrett will certainly have trouble sleeping tonight. This is because the fighter won the match against Chase Hooper, but ended up being upset and succumbed to a heel hook in the third round. The duel marked the fight that opened this weekend's show.
At just 21 years old, Hooper ended up being easy prey for Barrett in the first two rounds. With little technique when fighting on his feet, the North American relied on takedowns to try to surprise his rival. After losing a good part of the fight, Chase managed to win and resumed his path to triumph.
O UFC 256 it marked Barrett's second performance with the company. Debuting in August, the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) continues without winning in the company.
