MMA fans from Rio Grande do Sul, who have been waiting for a big event for a long time, will finally have reason to cheer. Rio Grande do Sul will be the first state in the southern region of the country to receive the Jungle Fight. The 47th edition of the show, scheduled to take place this evening (21), at Ginásio do Tesourinha, in Porto Alegre, features two title fights for the organization's GP.
In the main fight of the night, Itamar Rosa, from Rio Grande do Sul, will compete for the middleweight belt (up to 84 kg) against Ildemar Marajóm, brother of the UFC athlete, from Pará. Iuri Marajó. In the other clash valid for the title, Rio's Sidnei Abedi faces off against Arinaldo da Silva from Rio Grande do Norte, in the flyweight division (up to 57 kg).
Furthermore, the tournament will determine the lightweight final (up to 70 kg). Also from Rio Grande do Sul, Dimitry Zebroski will go up to the Jungle Arena to represent Brazil in an international duel against the American Sean Cubby. In the other semifinal, Lucio Curado from Tocantins and Ary Santos from Rio will battle for the other finalist spot in the division.
Ex-BBB as ring girl
During the event's weigh-in, held this Thursday (20), BBB 12 member Laisa Portela was announced as the competition's ring girl. The 23-year-old beauty will be the sixth former BBB member to parade over the Jungle Arena with the plaque in hand. The young woman will be responsible for announcing the fight rounds, together with the event's official sign girl, Geisa Vitorino.
