“Werdum’s history and resume speak for him. Werdum faced everyone and was the first guy to beat Fedor. He also beat other former champions and was also a UFC champion. We started talking to his manager, who said he was looking for something different that would make him excited to keep fighting. One of my questions was how good he feels. Werdum is 43 years old and didn't know how long he intended to fight, but his answer was that he still has four to five good years in the ring. Okay, I had to move,” said Sefo.

Sefo also reported that he knew that 'Vai Cavalo' was negotiating with other companies and that he and his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, did not create obstacles.

“I knew they were talking to Bellator, ONE and other organizations, but once the conversation started, I was very confident that we could sign him. I thank my team and, of course, Ali Abdelaziz and Werdum, because we talked, reviewed the terms and, within weeks, concluded the negotiation. It was a peaceful setting and we were very happy”, he concluded.

Throughout your career, Fabricio Werdum achieved remarkable feats. In addition to becoming UFC heavyweight champion, by finishing the feared Cain Velazquez with a guillotine, in the third round, the Brazilian can also be proud of having also submitted the legends Fedor Emelianenko, with a triangle, in the first round, and Rodrigo Minotauro, with an armbar, in the second round.
