The 16th season of TUF, the UFC's reality show, did not please fans and the show's audience was the lowest in history. As a result, the Ultimate organization took an extreme measure. Of the 16 athletes who participated in TUF 16, only four signed a contract with the event and the rest were released.
Among those confirmed are: Colton Smith, season champion, Mike Ricci, runner-up, as well as Jon Manley and Neil Magny, semi-finalists of the show. The only Brazilian in the running, Igor Araújo, who lost to the champion in the quarterfinals, will not have a chance in the Octagon.
In addition to Igor, the list of those dismissed includes Sam alvey, Bristol Marunde, James Chaney, Eddy Ellis, Matt Secor, Dom Waters, Michael Hill, Cameron Diffley, Nic Herron-Webb, Joey Rivera and Julian Lane.
