Israel Adesanya confesses that he was impressed by the turnaround in Jan Blachowicz's career

MMA is a sport in which something unlikely can happen and the UFC's light heavyweight division (93kg) was the scene of a curious story. Jan Blachowicz surprised by knocking out Dominick reyes, in the second round, consequently, he won the category belt, which was vacant, and Israel adesanya revealed that he still has difficulty believing what happened to the Pole.

In an interview with the North American website 'MMA fighting', the number one middleweight (83,9kg) admitted that he was impressed with the recovery of Blachowicz, his possible opponent, as, in the past, he was very close to being cut from the organization and congratulated him on the achievement, because there are few who manage to turn their career around.

“I was impressed with Blachowicz’s recovery. He was close to being cut from the UFC and most people can't recover, but he did it and won the belt. It was incredible!”, praised Adesanya.

The Nigerian's original plan was to defend the middleweight belt against Jared Cannonier, but, as this one lost to Robert whittaker, the rematch against the New Zealander did not excite him. Therefore, 'The Last Stylebender' accepted the UFC's proposal to hold a superfight in the top category, as an opportunity like this is not wasted.

“The lay of the land, especially in war, is always changing. You can't get attached to an idea. I wanted to fight Cannonier, but everything changed and this opportunity came to me. I have to enjoy it and that’s what I will do”, he concluded.

Hired in gold by the UFC, the beginning of Jan Blachowicz in the organization was troubled. The Polish, former KSW champion, lost four of his first six fights and was almost cut due to his low performance. However, 'Prince of Cieszyn' didn't give up, he dedicated himself and, currently, has won eight of his last nine fights. Despite the UFC's interest, Blachowicz and Israel adesanya, the superfight between the champions is not yet official. The triumph of Glover Teixeira about Thiago Marreta can prevent the champions from meeting.
