Sad news for Brazilians. The only man in history to beat the current flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg.), Deiveson Figueiredo, Jussier formiga is no longer part of the group of UFC athletes. The native of Rio Grande do Norte could not resist the series of three consecutive defeats and ended up being released by the organization. The information was released by 'MMA fighting'.

A veteran of Ultimate, Formiga debuted for the organization in 2012. For years, the athlete represented the division's elite, but in his last appearances he ended up being unable to succeed in his commitments.

With UFC gloves, Jussier had 16 fights. In total, the native of Rio Grande do Norte won nine matches and lost seven. In his CV for the company, the Brazilian traded forces against names like Jospeh Benavidez, Wilson reis, Sergio Pettis and the former champion, Henry Cejudo.

One of the greatest moments in Formiga's career in Ultimate happened in March 2019, when the athlete beat the current champion, Deiveson Figueiredo, – who, at the time, did not hold the title – taking away the unbeaten record in the Pará native’s career. After the triumph, however, Jussier ended up going through a bad phase, which ended up sealing his dismissal.

In his last commitments, the Potiguar ended up being surpassed by Benavidez, Brandon Moreno e Alex Perez, who will compete for the title against Deiveson on the 21st.

Today, Formiga is 35 years old. The Brazilian has a record of 31 professional fights in MMA, totaling 23 triumphs and eight setbacks.
