Jon Jones' coach praises Stipe Miocic, but says his pupil is better in all areas

It is not new that Jon Jones officially left the 93kg division. and, starting next year, he will compete in heavyweight (up to 120,2kg). Although he still doesn't have an official opponent for his debut, the American hopes to face Stipe Miocic for the division title and, analyzing the superfight, 'Bones' coach at Jackson-Wikn MMA, Mike Winkeljohn, sees a great possibility of his pupil emerging victorious in the eventual dispute.

“It’s a tough fight. Stipe is a great striker (fights on his feet), very strong in everything and very intelligent. I saw him controlling some heavy weights on the floor. He's smart with what he does,” praised Mike, in an interview with 'Submission Radio'.

Although he considers Miocic to be a great challenge for Jones, Winkeljohn, who knows Jon like few others, understands that his athlete can emerge victorious in the confrontation. Analyzing Jones' qualities, the coach praised his pupil.

“I think Jon would beat him in every aspect. When Jon Jones He’s focused, he beats anyone in wrestling, standing up and always ends up with a bloody show when things go right”, he concluded.

With the dream of testing himself in one of the most dangerous divisions in the UFC, Jones gave up his position as light heavyweight champion in August. The plan is to try to win another title in the company.

After Jon's official departure, Ultimate confirmed the confrontation between Jan Blachowicz e Dominick reyes in the dispute for the throne of the group that was dominated by Jones for more than 10 years. In the confrontation against the North American, the Pole ended up surprising and conquering the position with a devastating knockout, in September.
