Belfort praises Bisping and says his opponent is ahead of Weidman in the title fight

The next challenger for the belt Anderson Silva should be defined by the beginning of next year. With two fights scheduled between four of the best-ranked athletes in the division, the “Spider’s” opponent should be the one with the best performance in the clashes.

In December, Chris Weidman and Tim Boetsch face each other at UFC 155, while on January 19, in Brazil, Vitor belfort face English Michael Bisping. But for the Brazilian, who returns to the middleweight category after competing for the light heavyweight belt, his fight is more ranked than the confrontation between the North Americans. For him, Bisping is ahead of Weidman and, especially, Boetsch.

“I don't think Weidman against Boetsch can be compared to my fight. I think Bisping is a better ranked guy. Not to belittle Boetsch, but anyone who fights against him won't be the same as fighting against Bisping or Belfort. It's practically a fight (for a title shot). For me, Bisping is ranked higher than Weidman himself. It's not just about winning, it's about fighting the best. And he fought against Wanderlei (Silva), Rashad evans”, said Vitor, in an interview with Sportv.

The fight between Vitor belfort e Michael Bisping will headline UFC on FX 7, the event that opens the organization's 2013 season and the event's return to Brazil. The city where the event will take place has not yet been defined, but São Paulo, Fortaleza and Porto Alegre are the most likely to host the show.
