the goiano Douglas lima saved the Brazilian night at Bellator 79, an event held this Saturday night (02), in Rama, Canada. The Brazilian athlete defeated Jacob Ortiz by technical knockout in the third round, after dominating the entire duel, and scored his 22nd career victory.
“I have a lot of respect for this guy. This guy’s head is made of brick” he said Douglas lima after victory.
On the other hand, two other Brazilians left the show with defeat. In a duel valid for the semifinals of the heavyweight GP, Thiago Big Monster was knocked out by Richard Hale in the first round and lost the chance to return to the final of the category tournament. Marcus Aurélio “Lelo” did not have the debut he expected in Bellator. In a very disputed fight, the Brazilian ended up defeated by Christ Franck in a split decision by the judges. The result marked Lelo's first defeat in his MMA career.
