“Please UFC, give me a fight as soon as possible. I love my work. I just need a few days to enjoy my family, my children, my wife. I’m 100% healthy, ready to go back to the gym, train hard and get better”, said the Friborg native, in a press conference after the show.

Barboza did not suggest a specific opponent for his new commitment, but he projects a big name to get closer to a future title fight, which currently belongs to Alexander Volkanovsky.

“I want to fight with a top 5, top 6 in the category. I've been in the UFC for many years. I had the opportunity to fight the best in the world in the 155 lb (70,3 kg) category. I think that, for all my history, for everything I have done for the company, I deserve it”, he concluded.

The triumph over Amirkhani marked the Friborg native's 24th appearance with the organization's gloves. Representative of the company for almost 10 years, the Brazilian currently has 21 victories in 30 fights as a professional in MMA.
