At an event held on Saturday (03), in Abu Dhabi, the former bantamweight champion (61,2kg) confirmed her favoritism and reached an important milestone: this was her 60th victory in combat sports, including MMA, boxing and kickboxing.
Close to turning 39, the American puts herself in a great position in the category and could fight for the organization's belt for the sixth time.

The fight
In the first round, the experience and technical difference between Holly holm e Irene aldana became evident. Although both have boxing as their strong point, the North American has a much more extensive and successful CV in the sport. Holm moved well, showed off her arsenal of strikes and surprised her opponent by taking her down, showing off her grappling.
The second round was a repeat of the first. Holm remained sovereign and oozing technique and confidence. Although her blows didn't have that much power, the quantity and effectiveness bothered Aldana, who seemed lost in the fight.
In the third round, more of the same. Even at 38 years old, Holm continued to bounce around the octagon, moving well and, in this way, irritating her opponent. But at the same time that Aldana tried to attack, she received blows and was, once again, surprised on the ground.
In the fourth round and with a big advantage on the scoreboard, the North American remained focused and dominating the actions. Her control was so visible that she seemed to anticipate Aldana's attacks.
In the last five minutes, Holm remained active and was even more aggressive. She mixed punches, kicks and takedowns and showed that she can still perform at a high level in MMA.
The veteran's performance was so impressive that it made her win all the rounds, one being seen as 10×8 by one of the judges, but even so, she didn't challenge Amanda nunes, category champion. Before that, the veteran prefers to have a second fight against Germaine DeRandamie, who defeated her in 2017.
