After beating Borrachinha, Adesanya rises in the rankings and becomes the 3rd best weight for pound among UFC men

After defeating Paulo borrachinha imposingly in one of the most anticipated fights of 2020, the sky is the limit for Israel adesanya. Recognizing the great achievement of the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) in the UFC 253, held last Saturday (26), the organization changed the ranking of the best weight for weight, among men, in the company and relocated the Nigerian in 3rd.

Before the last update, Adesanya appeared in 4th place, behind Stipe Miocic. After the knockout over the Brazilian, Israel surpassed the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) and is now only behind Khabib Nurmagomedov (2nd) and the leader Jon Jones, who recently confirmed his migration to the 120kg division.

The change in ranking can also be seen in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg), which now has a new champion. After Jan Blachowicz run over Dominick reyes and win the vacant title, the Pole can now be seen in the main image of the group, while the North American lost his old position to Thiago Marreta, who is now the number one challenger.

Another beneficiary of the change was Glover Teixeira, who faces Marreta on November 7th. The Minas Gerais native, who was in 4th, is now 3rd. The two will face each other in the duel that should guarantee the first challenger to Blachowicz's belt.
