Current middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.), Israel Adesanya explained the friendly meeting he had with Paulo Borrachinha last weekend, in Abu Dhabi. The Nigerian ruled out any type of friendship and said that everything was nothing more than an analysis of the conditioning and mentality of this Saturday's rival (26).

“I went to check your energy and I still said, 'You're thin.' I thought he would take it to the other side, but he and Wallid (Ismail, the Brazilian's manager) were laughing like two little girls. Then, I knew what I already knew. I just confirmed that they were going to submit to me. So, he didn't realize that I was just analyzing him”, said the champion, in an interview for 'Media Day', with the participation of SUPER FIGHTS.

Adesanya also spoke about the importance of the confrontation against Paulo in his career. Undefeated in 19 appearances, the Nigerian minimized the duel with the Brazilian and considers the meeting as just another one.

“I know it’s a big fight. I'll do fine. I think it’s just another fight, another day at the office,” said Israel.

Recently, UFC president Dana White even said that 'Borrachinha x Adesanya' will be the biggest fight of the year. The champion then explained why he disagreed.

“People say it’s the fight of the year, like Dana White. But that will only happen if he's tough enough to beat me for five rounds, but I don't think his fuel tank will last”, he concluded.
