Although martial arts always preach fair play between fighters, this often does not happen and generates controversial episodes. However, the UFC Las Vegas 11, an event held on Saturday (19), in the USA, presented a rare case in sport, worthy of mention. The average weight (83,9kg), Kevin holland, won Darren stewart in the judges' split decision and showed all his sincerity in the post-show press conference.

'Trail Blazer' not only disagreed with the result, admitting that Stewart outperformed him during the 15 minutes, but also revealed that he spoke to Dana White, as he is open to a rematch, as he liked his opponent's stance.

“A victory is not a victory. Many would be happy to win like that, but not me. I like to win when the referee takes me off my opponent. If he doesn't fall unconscious, I haven't won. Stewart won the fight. I'm glad I didn't fight Till, because my striking wasn't good. Stewart is to be congratulated on his performance. I spoke to Dana White after the fight, and if the UFC wants to do the rematch, I'll accept it. I'm not afraid of any man. Stewart is a nice guy, smells good, and I think he took a shower before we fought. Some don’t take it and that’s bad,” said Holland.

If Stewart was praised, the same cannot be said of Kamzat Chimaev. Holland commented on the disagreement they had behind the scenes and believes that the Swede is as controversial a character as Jon Jones.

“Chimaev pushed me! He pushed me away and thought I worked at the hotel, but I don't work there and don't tell people you don't know who I am. He is a character. I'm like that, some fighters are also original, but he reminds me Jon Jones. You want to be this, you want to be that, but when a situation happens, we discover who the person really is. Wait a few years and you'll find out who this guy really is. He’s definitely not Khabib,” he teased.

Dissatisfied, the North American explained that he remained calm by separating the personal from the professional side, but warned that there won't be a next time.

PUBLICITY:

“If a fighter gets his hands on me, he will eventually get payback. I'm a professional, so I'll be professional as much as I can, because I don't want to lose my salary or be kicked out of the UFC, but don't mess with me”, he concluded.

Currently, Kevin holland, 27 years old, has three consecutive victories in the UFC, all in 2020, and is close to entering the top-15 of the middleweight division (83,9kg). In the organization, the athlete was only defeated by Thiago Marreta e Brendan allen, promise of the category.
