Although Dustin Poirier has publicly admitted that he will not participate in UFC 254, which takes place on October 24, Tony Ferguson He did not throw in the towel and insists on the confrontation against 'Diamante'. On his social networks, 'Bicho Papão' sent a message addressed to the president of the organization, Dana White, asking him to accept the terms of the former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) to promote the challenge.

According to Poirier, the withdrawal from the fight was due to a disagreement in the proposed values. The former lightweight champion demanded financial compensation to exchange forces against one of the most dangerous athletes in the category.
As it was not answered, the North American was left to withdraw from the clash and make it official that he will not be part of one of the biggest events of the year, which will also have in its main fight the fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov e Justin gaethje, in the confrontation for the unification of the belt.
The clash between Poirier and Ferguson is highly anticipated by fans, as it pits two strong candidates for a future title fight face to face.

Upon noticing Ferguson's attack, Poirier once again showed enthusiasm, but there is no confirmation that the confrontation has been put back on the agenda for next month.
