Amanda Lemos imposes her game against Mizuki Inoue and beats Japanese woman at UFC Las Vegas 7

Amanda lemos she was the only athlete from Brazil on the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 7, held this Saturday (22) and represented the country very well. The woman from Pará imposed her game against Mizuki Inoue and defeated the Japanese woman in a unanimous decision by the judges (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

With the result, Amanda has her eighth victory as a professional, the second consecutive in the UFC, in 10 fights – she also has one defeat and one draw. On the other hand, Inonue has a run of two Ultimate victories interrupted by the Brazilian.

The fight

In the classic confrontation between striker x grappler, better for the first style. Amanda lemos, known for her ability to fight on the feet, showed precisely this superiority in the first round. The Brazilian even knocked Inoue down, was active in her attacks on the ground and, almost, the duel was not ended by the referee.

The following rounds were more balanced, with the Asian trying to fight the confrontation in the clinch. However, Amanda managed to free herself and, once again, got the better of the exchange of blows.

At the end of 15 minutes, the judges saw that the Brazilian had won all three rounds. Now, Amanda has won her eighth fight in her career and her second in a row in the UFC.

Jordan Wright impresses in debut

The output of Jon Jones light heavyweight may have given new life to the category and the newcomer Jordan wright took a shortcut towards the top. At 28, he impressed by knocking out Ike Villanueva in the first round. The first blow delivered by “The Beverly Hills Ninja” was a round kick, which knocked the opponent down. Next, Wright applied a sequence of knees in the clinch that made Villanueva bleed and the doctor ended the duel, due to the severity of the cut. The American remains undefeated in his career and has won all of his fights via the fast track (six knockouts and five submissions).

Matthew Semelsberger wins easily

Matthew Semelsberger had a very quiet debut. He needed three rounds to overcome fellow debutant Carlton Minus, who didn't threaten him. The first round was the most competitive, with Semelsberger being superior in exchanging blows while standing. From the second onwards, the dominance became clear. “Semi The Jedi” applied a knockdown and was very close to finishing his opponent. In the third round, the fighters got tired, but the final stretch was electrifying, especially the last seconds, when Semelsberger abandoned his defense and was almost awarded a knockout.

Trevin Jones surprises favorite

The fight that opened the event was quite busy. It seemed that Timur Valiev would confirm the hype of his signing with a knockout in the first round, but what happened was precisely the opposite. Also debutant Trevin Jones, who replaced Mark Streigl, survived and surprised. In the second round, Jones landed a straight right that knocked his opponent down early on, and then ended the duel by striking him on the ground. It is worth noting that Valiev's last defeat happened in 2016 and this was his first knockout in his career.
