"Conor McGregor You're retired, right? He doesn't have any fights scheduled for this year, and he won't fight in 2020. I'm not saying he won't fight in 2021, but we still don't have a fight planned for him next year. But I guarantee you that in 2020, Conor McGregor will not fight,” said Dana White.

UFC's main star, McGregor last fought in January this year, when he knocked out Donald Cerrone No. UFC 246, in just 40 seconds. The Irishman was hoping for a rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov, but as the reunion with the Russian did not take place, he announced his retirement.

'McGregor treats fans like puppets'

Amid the coronavirus pandemic and with events without an audience, the Irishman offered to fight on several occasions through social media. But for Dana White, the fighter treats fans like puppets.

"Conor McGregor Plays with people as if they were puppets. His posts are like puppet strings with you all. He posted an 'I accept' right after the challenge Khamzat Shimaev, but I don't care about anything he says. Conor is retired,” he stated.

UFC president doesn't believe in McGregor's retirement

Despite stating throughout the podcast that McGregor is retired, Dana White believes that the end of the Irishman's career is definitive.

“Do we believe he will remain retired? I think most of us believe not, but let me explain this: I owe every fighter I have under contract three fights a year. If I don't give them that minimum of three fights, I have to pay them for it. At the time, Conor McGregor He's retired, whether people want to believe it or not. He's not fighting now, and when he's not fighting, I don't think about him and I don't want to know what he's doing in the professional field. Eventually I can send him a personal message, but professionally he is out of the game”, he added.

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor has a professional record of 22 wins and four losses. The Irishman, Ultimate's biggest pay-per-view seller, was the first athlete to become champion in two simultaneous categories: featherweight (up to 65.7 kg.) and lightweight (up to 70.3 kg.).

The Irishman was hoping for a rematch against his arch-rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, his last executioner, but surprised the world by announcing his retirement after UFC 250 in June.

If McGregor chose to retire, let him stay retired. If he returns, he would take over many fighters who are active. For him to come back he has to start at the bottom, as if he were restarting his career.
