Challenger for the Ultimate middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg.), Paulo borrachinha ruled out any possibility of peace after his long-awaited meeting with Israel adesanya in the title fight that should take place on September 19th. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the Brazilian spiced up the rivalry and was focused on achieving a historic victory over the Nigerian.

“After I knock him out, we won’t shake hands. It's going to be wild. I think it will happen in the second round, because he will run a lot in the first”, said the Minas Gerais native.
Great critic of the fight that represented Adesanya's first title defense, in March, when he exchanged forces against Yoel romero, Paulo guaranteed that his confrontation will be different. Known for the aggressiveness with which he conducts his fights, the Brazilian has no doubts about how the fight will go.
“I'm not going to wait for him. I know he can run a lot and that's what he wants to do, what he normally does. I won't wait like Romero did. I'm going to hunt him inside the Octagon, close the distance and unleash my attacks on his body and face. I'm not going as fast as (Robert) Whittaker and not as slow as Romero. It will be considered. I'm very different from the two guys and I can pressure him all the time for 25 minutes”, said Borrachinha.
Although Ultimate has not yet become official, Paulo and Israel are tipped to star in the UFC 253. The Brazilian, together with his manager, Wallid Ismail, has already confirmed the agreement between the parties, but the organization's president, Dana White, recently stated that there are still pending issues to be resolved before confirmation.
