Awaited by many MMA fans, the trilogy between Stipe Miocic e Daniel Cormier ended up gaining an extra flavor for the president of Ultimate, Dana White. For the 'big boss', the fight that ends the rivalry between the heavyweights (up to 120,2kg) of Ultimate, in UFC 252, on August 15, the president guaranteed that the winner could be considered the greatest of all time in the category by the organization.

“It’s not just the heavyweight belt (that’s at stake). Also, whoever wins this fight will be remembered as the best heavyweight of this era and the greatest in the UFC. It's massive,” said Dana in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.
The clash between two of the company's biggest stars in its recent history will also have a big difference. In addition to ending the trilogy, the fight must mark the end of the career of Daniel Cormier, who has already publicly confirmed that he will retire from the sport, regardless of whether he wins or loses.
Although he doesn't argue against the former champion, White, who generally supports his employees' decisions when it comes to retirement, thinks differently when it comes to Cormier.
“I hope he (Daniel) doesn’t retire. You know me. When it's time for a guy to retire, I'm the first to say he should. The amazing thing is that Cormier is there, at his age, and is still one of the best of all time. Dominant in two divisions. I still think it has a lot to offer, but it's not my body. Only he has the answer to that,” he concluded.
So far, the score of meetings between DC and Miocic remains tied. Cormier won in their first meeting, in 2018, by knockout, taking the belt from his compatriot. Stipe, in turn, got revenge last year, returning the result and regaining the title.
