Dana suggests 'Whittaker x Cannonier' to decide who faces Borrachinha or Adesanya for the belt

the fight between Paulo borrachinha e Israel adesanya for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg.) has not yet been made official, but UFC president, Dana White, is already drawing up plans for the first challenge for the winner of the confrontation. In an interview with ‘ESPN’, the boss suggested a fight between Robert whittaker e Jared Cannonier, in which the winner will face the champion.

“It’s very difficult to choose. You have Cannonier there. Would you guys watch Cannonier vs. Whittaker? I think it's a good fight to find out who will face the winner of Adesanya and Costa (Borrachinha)”, said the president.

After the challenge, the Australian stated that he would not ask the organization's board of directors for any names. This way, Robert left Dana and her team free to plot their next move.

Currently in third place in the group, Jared comes from three knockout victories in a row, one of them over the legendary Anderson Silva, in combat that took place in May of last year.

The expectation is that Borrachinha and Adesanya will face each other on September 19, in the main fight of the UFC 253. Although Paulo has already confirmed the challenge, White is cautious in making the commitment official.
