In the last performance in his contract with Ultimate, Fabricio Werdum couldn't have done better. After a quick and undisputed victory against Alexander Gustafson this Saturday (25), at UFC Fight Island 3, in Abu Dhabi, the gaucho will take home the bonus of US$50 thousand (around R$261 thousand), given to the Brazilian after his dominant performance. During the week preceding this Saturday's event, Werdum had stated, in an interview with 'Ag.Fight', that he was unlikely to renew his contract with Ultimate. In this way, the clash against Alexander would mark the end of a victorious trajectory for the heavyweight (up to 120,2kg) that spanned 42 years in the organization.
In the fight against the Swede, Fabrício acted safely and won the victory within his specialty: jiu-jitsu. The former category champion needed less than three minutes to settle the bill and celebrate yet another triumph in his record.
On the main card, two more athletes received the jackpot after great victories. The promise of the welterweight division (up to 77kg.), Khamzat Shimaev, surprised again by showing up to fight 10 days after his last commitment.
