With the result, Carcacinha suffers his third defeat in 17 fights – he has 14 victories, being his second in Ultimate in seven appearances. On the other hand, Murphy, after losing in his debut, recorded his first victory in the UFC. He has a professional record of nine wins and just one setback.

The fight

The fight started with Carcacinha showing good movement and even risking a kick. The São Paulo native soon attacked and quickly reached the coast of Murphy, but the Englishman managed to get away well. Afterwards, Ricardo tried a rotating attack, but lost time and ended up being knocked down. The São Paulo native still managed to sweep and stay on top, but the duel soon returned to standing.

Afterwards, however, Murphy landed a great takedown, managed to posture and land several blows on Carcacinha on the ground. The Brazilian turned sideways and the referee was forced to end the fight and declare a technical knockout.
