- The fight was brought back. Time to recharge, recalibrate and go on the attack,” wrote Frankie on her Instagram account.
Initially, the fighters would exchange forces this Wednesday (15), in one of the four events on 'Ilha da Luta', in Abu Dhabi. The Brazilian, however, tested positive for COVID-19 in one of his tests and was forced to leave the show..
The clash between the São Paulo native and the North American will mark Edgar's debut in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2kg). Former lightweight champion, this will be the third division in which Frankie appears.
In an unstable phase of his career, Edgar, who has three defeats in his last five commitments, will have the chance to reacquaint himself with his victories and, as a bonus, enter the top 10 of the category, if he wins the challenge against Munhoz.
Currently, Pedro is 7th in the category which, since last Saturday (11), has been led by the Russian Petr yan. The São Paulo native comes from a defeat to aljamain sterling and will seek, against a big name in the company's history, to return to the radar for a future fight for the title.
