Ronda Rousey (photo) defends the women’s bantamweight belt for the first time
The city of San Diego will host another edition of Strikeforce this Saturday night (18). The show's fight program features as its main attraction the fight for the women's bantamweight belt, where the champion Ronda Rousey defends his reign for the first time in front of Sarah Kaufman.
The beautiful Ronda, who is undefeated in MMA with five victories, the former judoka promises to use her skills in ground fighting to rip off her opponent's arm.

“I see Sarah as my opponent and I trained hard for this fight, more than for any other fight. I respect her too much and I won't take any chances. If I catch her arm, I'll rip it off and throw it in the corner. If I manage to strangle her, I will hold her in position for as long as I can. If I knock her out, I won't walk away. I'm going to try to bury her face in the ground. And that has nothing to do with me liking or respecting her because she's a really nice girl. Every time I come to fight I pretend that my little sister's life depends on it and, in this situation, no one can beat me. I'm here to fight. I’m not here to do a little dance for the boys,” she snapped.
The card only features one Brazilian in action. In the second most important fight of the show, Ronaldo Jacare faces the North American Derek Brunson with an eye on the possibility of regaining the Strikeforce middleweight belt.
The organization's president, Scott Coker, announced at the press conference that the winner of the duel will be the next opponent of Luke Rockhold. For Jacaré, the opportunity to rematch what happened in September 2011 is worth it. On that occasion the fighters had a balanced fight, but for the side judges the victory went to the North American who took the belt from the Tupiniquim athlete.
