The name of Anderson Silva has been involved in several rumors in recent weeks about who the Brazilian fighter's opponent would be. Absolute UFC middleweight champion, Anderson's next challenger is the North American Chris Weidman, but possible duels against Georges St Pierre, owner of the welterweight belt, and Jon Jones, holder of the light heavyweight title, were speculated in several reports. But, if the possible ones are marked, it will only be in 2013.

UFC president, Dana White, revealed that Anderson asked to only fight next year, as the fighter wants to rest from the series of commitments he has had in recent months.

“Anderson said he wants to take some time off until the end of the year. We will only start talking to him in 2013”, said Dana White, who revealed, in principle, that the “Spider” challenge should actually be against Chris Weidman, if the undefeated North American agrees to wait until 2013 to return to the octagon.

“He (Weidman) will have to wait or fight first, because Anderson will only fight at the beginning of the year (2013)”, concluded the director.
