Light weight (up to 70,3kg.) Matt frevola is officially out of the UFC Las Vegas 3, which takes place this Saturday (20). The combatant was removed from the fight against Frank Camacho after one of his teammates, also the Ultimate athlete, Billy quarantillo, testing positive for COVID-19. On his social networks, Frevola made the statement.

“The UFC removed me from the event because one of my corners (coaches) tested positive for Covid-19. We did everything possible to make this fight happen. I was tested twice and both times I tested negative. I also presented tests from April 30th that prove that I have antibodies, but the UFC didn't want to take any risks. Because there was no certainty about the incubation period, and also because little was known about Covid-19, they decided to take me out of the fight due to the positive test of my training partner and brother. Billy quarantillo. He’s been helping me a lot throughout the camp, and I don’t hold any grudges,” wrote Matt.
Even though his plans to play this weekend were frustrated, Frevola adopted a sober stance when dealing with the new incident. The athlete confirmed that he spoke with his opponent this Saturday, Camacho, and wished him luck if his rival receives a new opponent.
“I'm at weight and ready, and I was excited to fight Frank. I told him that if they find a new opponent, I will support him on Saturday, and that, if they don't, I hope they reschedule our fight for as soon as possible or whenever he wants. I apologize to everyone who was looking forward to seeing me fight and supported me all this time. I can't believe I'm the first fighter to have two fights canceled because of this virus (even without having contracted it), but I know it has affected many more lives in much worse ways. Let's see what comes next, and move on, because that's what we do. I should have a new fight soon, and I hope the UFC continues to take good care of me”, he concluded.
This would be Matt's fifth appearance putting on UFC gloves. Revealed by 'Dana White's Contender Series', the North American has two wins, one draw and one defeat for the organization.
So far, Ultimate has not announced whether Frank will remain on the card or have his commitment postponed.
