Considered one of the big names in the under-93kg division. a few years ago, Gustafsson did not absorb well the defeats he suffered against Jon Jones, in the fight for the category belt, in 2018, and Smith, in June of last year. Shaken by having moved away from his dream of winning a belt from the organization, the fighter chose to walk away from the sport.

Now, back, the Swede will be able to debut in the new category against a big name, as the Brazilian is considered a great icon of the sport, having even won the interim heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg) in 2014, and unified the title in 2015, when he shocked the world by beating Cain Velazquez.

Even with a respectable standard, Fabrício is not having a good time in MMA. The athlete, who was coming off a defeat to Alexander Volkov, in 2018, returned to the octagon in May this year after serving a two-year suspension for being caught in an anti-doping test. On that occasion, 'Vai Cavalo' ended up defeated by alexey oleynik in the judges' split decision.

If the fight is confirmed, the clash could mark Werdum's farewell to the UFC, as the athlete is one presentation away from the end of his contract with the company. The Brazilian has not yet confirmed whether he will leave MMA for good after fulfilling his commitment or will try to extend his relationship with Ultimate for a few more challenges.
