Dana White goes back and replaces Lyoto with a chance to fight for the belt

Dana White announced last Monday (30), that the winner of the fight between Mauricio Shogun and Brandon Vera, who will be in the main fight of UFC on FOX 4, next Saturday (5), would be the next challenger for the light heavyweight title. But the UFC president went back and included new candidates for the title fight.

The director stated that at the requests of the fans he included the Brazilian Lyoto Machida and the North American Ryan bader, who will also face each other at UFC on FOX 4, as possible candidates for the challenger position.

“The fans didn't like the choice of Shogun and Vera's winner, so it's like this: whoever wins in the most impressive way on Saturday will have their chance against the winner of Jon Jones e Dan Henderson. I promote the fights that the fans want to see”, said the director in an interview with the newspaper USA Today.

UFC on FOX 4 will be held in the city of Los Angeles, in the United States and features the fight between Shogun and Vera as the main attraction of the night, while Machida and Bader face off in the second most important fight of the show.

The light heavyweight belt will be on the line in the main fight of UFC 151, on September 1st, when the champion Jon Jones will defend his reign against the veteran Dan Henderson.
