UFC president, Dana White, tried to put an end to speculation about the confrontation between Kamaru Usman e Conor McGregor for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.). Thinking about respecting the division's ranking, the 'boss' listed three names who could face the current champion in a dispute that should take place in the near future.

“Listen, Usman’s next fight will be against these guys: it will be Colby (Covington), (Jorge) Masvidal, (Leon) Edwards. It's going to be one of those. Will not be Conor McGregor”, said the president in an interview with 'ESPN'.

In recent days, Kamaru started promoting a fight against McGregor, who, in January, had a great performance fighting at welterweight. The Nigerian's attack came after learning that his possible rival, Jorge masvidal, would be willing to repeat the confrontation against Nate diaz. From then on, without an opponent in sight, the champion looked for Conor as a replacement.

White then tried to calm the spirits of Masvidal, who is the company's favorite challenger for Kamaru's reign, stating that, initially, a fight for the belt is more viable than a new confrontation against Diaz. The clash, however, was not completely ruled out by the 'boss'.

“I'd rather see the UFC title defended than the 'Most Thick' belt. Anything is possible, but these are the fights that make sense now”, concluded Dana.

Kamaru hasn't fought since his first title defense, in December last year, when he defeated his great rival, Covington in a true spectacle for the fans. Since then, the athlete has been waiting for his next commitment with the organization.
