Dana White criticizes athletes and referee after UFC 149

The city of Calgary, Canada, hosted UFC 149 in the early hours of this Saturday (Brasília time), but the athletes' performance did not please the organization.

Despite a busy preliminary card, the fights on the main program were below expectations and the athletes received harsh criticism from Dana White, president of the UFC.

“Listen, we had bad fights. I’m not happy we had that night, but it’s not the city’s problem, it’s mine and the fighters’,” she said.

The agent's targets were heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Shwan Jordan, who spent practically the entire fight in the clinch, as well as referee Yves Lavigne, who was responsible for mediating the fight.

“When the two guys (Kongo and Jordan) are in the clinch for three rounds and this idiot over there is watching, your job, as a referee, is to make them fight. We're talking about guys with experience. Yves Lavigne was horrible tonight,” said White, who also criticized Yves Lavigne’s performance. Hector Lombard, who arrived at the UFC listed as a likely challenge Anderson Silva, but was unable to impose his game against Boetsch.

“Lombard came from a 25-fight streak and today was horrible. But when you see a guy like Boetsch, who came out of nowhere and beat Okami... It didn't go well”, he summed up.
