The coronavirus pandemic has shown that it does not exclusively attack a specific group of people. Recently, the disease began to manifest itself in some athletes, such as the ex-UFC fighter, Serginho Moraes. The athlete admitted that he was diagnosed with Covid-19 and narrated the tension he experienced with the symptoms.

“Man, it was really hard. I've never had such an aggressive opponent. I went to São Paulo to take care of my parents and they ended up taking care of me”, said the Brazilian in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

Serginho confessed that he suspected he had been affected by the disease after undergoing a simple procedure suggested by his personal doctor. As he was always an athlete, the fighter came to disbelieve that he could have been infected.

“In the first four or five days, my doctor called me and asked me to put on a mask and walk around the block to find out if I would feel short of breath. I laughed. 'You are crazy? I've been an athlete all my life, I've had this disease for four days and I'm talking about shortness of breath? I hung up the phone, changed my clothes and was already breathing deeply when I went up the stairs. 'My God, what is this? I was so out of breath that I had to sit down. I didn’t even go around the block,” said the athlete.

Moraes then explained how difficult the times are when the patient undergoes treatment while remaining infected. According to the Brazilian, the media does not clearly demonstrate what it is capable of promoting.

“I think the media doesn’t talk about everything that causes the disease. It's impressive. If I had known the 'off' button, I would have pressed it. The medicine is strong. You don't want to drink or eat anything because of him. It really affects you. I was worried, my hands were tied. You want to be strong, but you can’t”, concluded Serginho.
