Amid the pandemic, Dana White says that 'Ilha da Luta' will be widely used by the UFC

Amid so many uncertainties surrounding the world of sports during the coronavirus pandemic, one thing can be said: 'Ilha da Luta' will be a great escape valve for the UFC. Without knowing whether preventative measures will be relaxed or become stricter during the health crisis, Ultimate's president, Dana White, guarantees that the private space that has been adapted by the organization will be heavily used in the coming months.

“It will be interesting how things play out in the coming years and that is why we are investing in 'Ilha da Luta'. It makes a lot of sense to me”, said Dana in response to the website 'Reddit AMA'.

Even without sparing efforts to ensure that the UFC returns to its activities as quickly as possible, White understands that the consequences of the pandemic will have a direct influence on the holding of the cards for a long time.

“No one knows how sports will change after this pandemic. It's going to be an interesting year. The 'Ilha da Luta' will be here for a while”, guaranteed the 'boss'.

Without being able to inform the exact location or date for a card in the new space, White recently also assured that it will take time for Ultimate to promote a show with the presence of the public, as several health experts recommend avoiding crowds to minimize the possibility of contracting the coronavirus.

Without fights since March, Ultimate confirmed, last week, that it will resume its activities on May 9, in Florida (USA). The card will feature two title fights and promises great emotions for spectators.
